I am a runner in my mid-40s. I live in Calgary, Alberta Canada. I feel more fabulous today than I have in years. Back in the 80s I ran cross-country in high school and figure skated. I was fit, but was known more for singing and being in drama. Fast forward to my late 30s...when I decided to take up running. And, was not so fit. In 2011, I focused on running regularly and began training for a 12km race (Seemed like such a HUGE task!). I ran, walked, ran some more. And, after running 3 5km races, 2 8km races, 11 10km races and two half maras, I realized maybe I was a runner. And, I was 40 pounds lighter. In 2012 I ran 11 half marathons and 2 marathons and a whole lotta distances in between! By 2013, I added another 12 half marathons. Oh I do love the half marathon -- In 2015, I completed myt 42nd half marathons! But if I need a quickie a 10km is the perfect treat! Oh wait. A run in the mountains on some amazing single track is also killer.
